DEON KIPPING

In January 2006, a young Bridgeport, CT native captivated the hearts of people all across the world with the release of his debut album entitled Deon Kipping & New Covenant…Real Life. Real Worship. Immediately embraced by thousands, the music of Deon Kipping was being heard in homes, cars, on jobs, and in churches everywhere. Deon Kipping was starting his journey and shaking the foundation of the gospel industry with his Christian/Neo Soul style that he distinguished as Life Changing music. Kipping’s music tells real life stories of experiences that he encountered as he learned to depend on the Lord and overcome the pains of life through worshiping someone much greater than him or his situation, and as a result as others heard his music it began to change lives.
Although Kipping was able to introduce his first album with such an auspicious entrance, it does not reflect the hard work and determination he has had to continually encourage others with his music and fulfill his vision. Deon Kipping was born to a young single mother, and she raised Kipping while continuing her own education and working hard. Kipping’s grandparents the late Honorable Bishop Victor E. Kipping and Elder Sarah Kipping assisted Kipping’s mother with his upbringing for they knew from the very beginning that Kipping was destined to be something great. As a young boy, Kipping always possessed exceptionally remarkable musical talent, however it was through the pushing of his grandparents for him to play during church services and sing with the choir that helped shape his musical ability. At every church service Kipping would diligently and earnestly try to play and duplicate the melodies he heard in his head and felt in his heart. There was never any opportunity that was presented when Kipping failed to grow and humbly learn at the hands of musicians who always took the time to sow into his life.
As the years passed, while completing a Bachelors Degree in Education with a Minor in Music, Kipping grew more musically inclined and he began to move beyond playing the organ and singing in the choir at his local church to writing, producing, and arranging vocals for artists across the world. Notably, he has worked and created music for Mary J. Blige, Mario, and Nicole Wray in the R&B realm, before sharing his gift with other gospel artists such as JJ Hairston and Youthful Praise in which Kipping is presently known for writing the number one single Incredible God Incredible Praise. His love and passion for music has opened the door for Kipping to continue to work with numerous artists, and execute his own musical project.
Kipping made the decision in 2004 to form the group New Covenant with a close friend and partner, Kevin “Chip” Ginyard, Jr. New Covenant currently consists of 6 vigorous singers and 7 dynamic musicians, who contribute in creating the harmoniously sweet sound to Kipping’s Life Changer music. Since formulating the group, Deon Kipping and New Covenant have been given the great opportunity to share a platform with gospel icons such as Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, Reverend Timothy Wright, Rance Allen, Donald Lawrence, Byron Cage, Vickie Winans, Shirley Caesar and Kurt Carr to name a few. Kipping and his group have also performed in the presence of Bishop T.D. Jakes and Bishop Noel Jones, and in front of thousands from coast to coast.
In spite of the young career of Deon Kipping, he has already begun to brilliantly cultivate the ever growing agriculture of gospel music. Through his independent entertainment production company, Love & Life Entertainment, Kipping continues to convey a life changing message in his music and expand the walls of the kingdom.
