DAVE HOLLISTER
Before I Let You Go; My Favorite Girl; One Woman Man – David Hollister sings about the reality of love and life like no other. With his new single What Do You Do, off of his upcoming Gospo Centric/Zomba Gospel release “The Book of David – The Transition,” Hollister is singing about a different kind of love and in usual fashion, colored with bold lyrical perspective and emotional delivery – he has delivered a song that resonates and reverberates throughout the soul.

David Hollister a musical storyteller, and on What Do You Do, his storytelling talents reach epic proportions as he holds a mirror up to his own life, soul and spirit and pours every ounce of pain, suffering, healing and joy into one magnetic performance.

A talented singer, songwriter and producer, Hollister first appeared in the soundtrack of Boyz N the Hood, but it was his stint as an original member of Blackstreet that captured him critical acclaim (who can forget his mesmerizing vocals on Before I Let You Go). He released his first solo album, the Gold Certified Ghetto Hymns, in 1999; and then the autobiographical Chicago ’85…The Movie, which featured the smash One Woman Man.

It would appear that record label mergers and downsizing would impair Hollister’s ability to regain momentum as a national recording artist, but during the past few years Hollister merged his own gifts and dreams with the plans that God has for his life and the result is The Book of David: The Transition.

If you’ve read anything or know anything about David Hollister, you know that he always has had and expressed a love for God. In one 2000 interview, he said, “I'm a messenger. I don't consider me being an R&B artist. I think… that's the calling that God has made on my life for R&B…You know, I just ask God to direct my path, because he's why I'm here, he's why I live... Only God knows the future so whatever path he's set for me that's where I'm a go.”

On The Book of David: The Transition Hollister producers includes: Shep Crawford, Mike City, dre&vidal, PAJAM, Warryn Campbell, Teddy Riley, and many others.
