DEAH HARRIOTT & IMAGES
Since 1992, Deah Harriott & Images has been spreading the Gospel in song to audiences across the country. With their unique blend of Contemporary Christian, Traditional Gospel, and Modern Praise and Worship, people from all walks of life have been touched by the anointed music ministry of Images. Deah Harriott, the founder and director, explains, “We are not a group, we are ministers. Our goal is to create a channel with our audience that will connect them spiritually to Christ.”

On January 21, 2006, Deah Harriott & Images released their stunning debut album, Sacrifice. The album release concert at Capitol City Christian Church of Lincoln, NE blessed over 600 people in attendance. “The local support is absolutely over-whelming! I feel that people are really rooting for this project. To God be all of the glory and praise!” exclaimed Harriott after ministering that evening. Sacrifice, with the majority of songs written or co-written by Harriott, features the group’s first single, “Givin’ Him Praise,” an R&B infused, hand-clappin’, foot-stompin’ track as well as the Richard Smallwood influenced title track, “Sacrifice.” A unique quality of this project is that it is entirely produced by Harriott, as there are not many female producers in the gospel industry.

Deah Harriott grew up in an extremely musical family and is a classically trained pianist, studying since the tender age of three. At age seven, she discovered a budding gospel group by the name of the Richard Smallwood Singers, who became her primary musical influence. “I was instantly hooked,” Harriott describes, “I would play his [Smallwood’s] songs over and over again. My family would hide his albums from me because I’d wear them out! I think I was just amazed by his inter-weaving of gospel and classical music. I never heard anything quite like it!” One of the proudest moments of her teenage years was teaching herself Smallwood’s gospel-classical rendition of the Lord’s Prayer at age 13. Other musical influences include Thomas Whitfield, Donnie McClurkin, Kurt Carr, Fred Hammond, J Moss, Dorinda Clark-Cole, KiKi Sheard, Karen Clark-Sheard, and many more.
