EARNEST PUGH
Some people seem to be destined for their calling from the beginning of their lives. And yet others seem to find their way by almost stumbling upon their mission while on life's journey. Almost from birth, Earnest Pugh was blessed with a voice and a gift to sing.

Often included in the same class with some of gospel music's finest powerhouse vocalists including Donnie McClurkin, Smokie Norful and Daryl Coley, Pugh is forging his own path with a strong music ministry and a new CD, A Worshipper's Perspective.

His EPM Music Group debut has already set the gospel music community on fire with its stirring lyrics, flawless music and riveting vocals. Although A Worshipper's Perspective taps some of gospel's best including the impressive talents of Byron Cage, Brent Jones, Lonnie Hunter, Keith Williams and Nikki Ross, it's Pugh that truly shines on this awesome collection of live praise and worship music.

This psalmist, musician and songwriter is primed to take the industry by storm with a five-octave range, amazing vocal control and an unapologetic anointing. Although seemingly coming out of nowhere, Earnest Pugh's love story with music starts in the South. Music has always been a part of this Memphis native's life, but it was his late great-grandmother who recognized God's hand on the youth. As a youngster, he sang songs to her in her final days of battling a crippling disease. Even at the age of seven, her prophetic words have stayed with him until this day: "You possess the same anointing David had. When he ministered, he refreshed Saul." Little did she know that not only singing, but acting and preaching would be in this young man's future.

By his teens, he was in great demand and was sought after by the groundbreaking gospel pioneer, O'landa Draper. At Draper's request, Pugh joined O'landa Draper and Associates. His tenure with the group was short-lived, deciding to join the United Army instead. Even in the service, his musical career held strong. It was at that season in his life when he felt the call to preach. "I knew my days in the military were numbered when I found myself preaching on government time. It was wore a sign on my face directing people to come my way."
