In April of 1998, God gave James Fortune the vision to start a youth ministry to focus on reaching youth through song and dance. This choir based out of Houston, Texas, at the time was called Youth For Christ. At the age of 20 years old, James Fortune, formed a group of youth and young adults between the ages of 11-21. This choir ministered all over Houston to many different churches and Youth conferences spreading the uncompromised message of Jesus Christ. James Fortune has also led many youth workshops and youth events focusing on reaching young people to inform them that they don't have to turn to the pressures of clubs, drugs, alcohol, fornication or any other type of ungodliness to find happiness and joy. Fortune states, "The youth of today must realize that true happiness and fullness of joy is only found in the presence of Yahweh, our Heavenly Father".

In May 2000, Yahweh led James Fortune to change the name of the group to "Free In Yahweh's Abundance (FIYA)". Fortune states, "Our Father's will is not for his children to live a defeated and broken life full of uncertainty and anxiety, but Jesus said in John 10:10b, I come that you might have life and that you might have it more abundantly". Yahweh has promised us that blessings would overtake us if we would fully obey his word.

FIYA has been nominated four years in a row for the Texas Gospel Youth & Young Adult Choir of the year. They have been featured on Eric Carrington's album, "Soar". FIYA has been blessed to open up for various artists such as, John P. Kee, Kim Burrell, Stevie Wonder, Mary Mary, Donald Lawrence, Albertina Walker and many others. FIYA's highly anticipated debut CD is set for release by mid 2004, entitled, "You Survived".

FIYA has always kept the focus of bringing lost and dying souls to Christ. Long time FIYA member, Latoya Bell states, "I have been with FIYA since the beginning and FIYA has been a blessing to me. I have grown in so many areas of my life and being surrounded by my peers who love Yahweh and are not ashamed to show it has truly touched my life". Ashlee Ardoin states," When people hear FIYA, my desire is that Yahweh would touch their life and the listener will want to make a spiritual change in their life". This group has a very special anointing and once you see and hear them minister you will feel the presence of Yahweh. James Fortune currently serves as Youth and Young Adult Minister of Music for Southwest Community Church "The Bridge" of Houston, Texas.
