Keith A. Williams is a man of God from Silver Spring, MD. He began playing the piano at the age of five under the instruction of his mother, Carolyn Williams. Keith started his musical career at the age of 11 when he began playing for the Ebony Gospel choir of the Jerusalem United Methodist Church in Rockville, MD. Since that time he has expanded his musical focus to become a vocalist, performer, writer, and producer. Keith currently serves as the Director of Music and Arts for the Ebenezer AME Church inFort Washington, MD under the pastors Rev. Dr. Grainger Browning, Jr. and Rev. Dr. Jo Ann Browning. At Ebenezer, he works with several choirs as well as the Liturgical Dance and Drama Ministries. In addition to his full time church responsibilities, Keith travels as a performer, musician, producer, and workshop clinician.
Keith has been privileged to work with many well known artist such as Tramaine Hawkins, Rev. Donald Vails, Aretha Franklin, Bebe and Cece Winans, Yolanda Adams, Richard Smallwood, Calvin Bernard Rhone, Karen Clark-Sheard, Beverly Crawford, Jeffrey LaValley, Donnie McKlurkin, Shirley Ceasar, LaShun Pace, Betty Griffin Keller, Myrna Summers, Byron Cage, Melba Moore, Patti LaBelle, Dorothy Norwood, Earnest Pugh, Debbie Allen, R. Kelly, Lonnie Hunter, Kathy Taylor Brown, Brent Jones and so many others.
In 1994, Keith was selected to participate as an accompanist in the Studio Lirico opera program in Cortona, Italy. In 1996, Keith was invited to come and share as a Gospel music workshop clinician in Nassau, Bahamas. In 1997, Keith was privileged to participate in the project against violence, "From One Brother to Another", sponsored by New Alliance under the direction of Nolan Williams. As well in 1997, Keith was featured in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands in a benefit concert for the St. John School of Music. Beginning in the summer of 1997, Keith has been traveling as a cast member with the New York Harlem Productions European tour of "Porgy and Bess". While on tour with "Porgy and Bess", Keith began accompanying vocalist, Crystal Harris. Following the tour they toured the east coast with their own recital series entitled, "An evening with Crystal and Keith". In 1999, Keith was featured in Debbie Allen's Production of "Soul Possessed" at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The production also starred Patti Labelle, Pauletta Washington, Aturo Sandoval, and Carmen DeLavolade. In February of 2002, Keith was a featured writer and choir director on The Ebenezer AME Church Mass Choir CD project entitled, "The Levites : That's How The Lord Works!" One of his more recent creative efforts is the Rejoice Choir. They were finalist in TVONE's inaugural season (2004) of "The Gospel Challenge".
In November 2004, Keith recorded his first CD project, live with a group and singers, he affectionately calls, "...& Again I Say Rejoice". This debut CD is scheduled for release in June of 2005.
In addition to his ministry goals, in January 2005, Keith began working as a Rehearsal Supervisor/Vocal Director with Royal Caribbean Entertainment in Hollywood, Florida.
Through his production company, Prazkeez Music plans to continue innovating the music and entertainment industry through "creative ministry". One can certainly expect to see and hear more from Keith Williams in the future.
