MARVIN WINANS JR.
Donning a beautiful wife on his right arm at celebrity functions, and dressed in the best of contemporary fashion, Marvin may look like the typical, surface, image driven, young man modern society has become used to seeing, but Marvin, however is quick to mention that what can't be seen is what is most important. "I want to show the world how to live the 'complete' lifestyle. My music is my voice, my life is my light." Marvin seems, without a doubt, ready for pop success and public attention, but as the last name denotes, he is no stranger to a mainstream audience.

Born to Marvin L. Winans, Sr., leader of the famed gospel cross over group "The Winans", and songstress and gospel great, Vickie Winans, on December 28, 1979, Marvin began capturing the hearts of audiences at the early age of 5. Growing up, Marvin inherited musical prowess, and as a first-hand witness, he watched his family grow from small beginnings to international success.

Marvin's father and uncles, "The Winans", broke into the mainstream with their debut album entitled, "Introducing the Winans". In 1981, the song "Question Is" blazed its way into mainstream rotations across the country. Following several successful records throughout the 80's, the four brothers made their lasting mark, worldwide, with their Gold-selling album, entitled, "Return". "Return" was filled with hits such as "It's Time" and "A Friend", which were produced by Guy/BlackStreet founder/member and famous producer, Teddy Riley.

Since 1986, Marvin's mother, Vickie Winans, has been known for not only a powerful voice, but for her beautiful and consuming personality. She is one of music's most innovative and creative minds to date. Handling her own management, she performs and has performed approximately 220 shows a year, for the past 15 years. She endorses household corporate businesses, including Chrysler Financial and Quaker Oats, and has found time to produce Grammy-nominated records as well. She is well known for her songs, entitled, "We Shall Behold Him", "Long As I Got King Jesus" and "Shake Yourself Loose".

Marvin's musical foundation doesn't stop at his parents. His brother, Mario Winans made a big splash on the musical scene as a Bad Boy recording artist in 2004 with his hit single "I Don't Want to Know". The album, entitled, "Hurt No More", sold 1.3 million copies and reached the top 5 on the Top 200 Billboard album charts. He has also produced for the who's who of R&B and Pop music including, J-Lo, Justin Timberlake and Diddy.

Marvin's uncle and aunt, Bebe and Cece Winans, whose names, alone, are as well known as their music, are one of the most successful music duos in music history. Routinely, selling platinum albums, they too, took mainstream radio by force with well written, message driven hits, entitled, "Heaven", "Addictive Love", and "It's O.K.". When considering all Winans projects, including his grandparents, David and Delores and all ten of their children, the Winans family has won over 40 Grammy Awards and sold millions upon millions of records! So it's clear why Marvin Winans Jr. is ready for mainstream success!

Marvin's first passion ironically, was not music. He first desired to follow in the footsteps of his childhood hero and basketball great, Isiah Thomas. However, his passion for music soon overtook any desires to play professional basketball. Thankfully, he did not have to look far for another role model. Amazed by his father's jaw-dropping performances with "The Winans", Marvin Jr. loved to mirror every move Marvin Sr. made on stage.
