Tasha Cobbs is proving herself to be more than just "the next big voice" in gospel. Yes, her voice is amazing but after listening to the songs on her solo project, you will quickly learn, this chick is a triple threat! A prolific songwriter, a true singer's singer (think a little bit of Kelly Price, Kari Jobe and Jasmine Sullivan) and she's an incredible preacher. After hearing only a few moments of her singing, you understand she has power, can deliver a might and smooth alto AND will smash you to pieces.

Creative as a little girl, this PK was born the only daughter to Bishop Fritz and Lady Bertha Cobbs. Raised in Jessup, GA, Tasha passed the time singing with her first cousins who are all incredible minstrels as well.

One would be surprised to learn she was bit of a tomboy in her formative years. She initially possessed little desire to do the whole "girlie thing," so it's no surprise that it wasn't until high school that she began to express her gift of being a "fashionista". One look at her stylish creations and you'll definitely be sold on her clothing line which is soon to come.

In 2006, as fate would have it, she heard the voice of God telling her to relocate to Atlanta. Her father came to her with a confirming word and within hours, she loaded her belongings and began her journey to pursue destiny. She attended service at the dReam Center church of Atlanta and was assured that it was where God desired for her to be. Without hesitation, she approached the altar becoming the first official partner of the ministry.

Within months, she connected with her Pastor, William H. Murphy, III and became one of his background vocalist. Under his guidance and care she has grown to higher heights in prayer, worship and leadership. She's also been blessed to record with Murphy and many other artists as a lead and background vocalist.

Tasha is currently completing her undergraduate studies at Beulah Heights University. As her gift continues to make room for her and place her before great men, Tasha prays daily that God would "keep me humbled at your feet and never take your anointing away." She's extremely proud that she's a submitted daughter to Pastors William and Danielle Murphy who have entrusted her to be the Worship Pastor at the dReam Center church of Atlanta.

Brighter days are ahead with the release of her first solo project, "Smile."

SMILE was recorded in Atlanta before a crowd of 2000. The eleven track CD features the title track SMILE that has been blessing worshippers for more than a year now. "I was inspired to write the song in a Ministry of Worship class at the Full Gospel Conference in 2007. The instructor, Elder Phillip Britton, was telling a story about an experience he had shared with his daughter that put a SMILE on his face." Tasha wrote the song and sang it the following week at her home church, where it soon became an anthem.

"Happy", the first single, was inspired by a conversation with her younger cousin questioning the sincerity of one's happiness. After that conversation, Tasha sat down and penned the lyrics, "Everything about you is right...it covers all my wrong. Your life saved my life. With you is where I belong." This compilation of songs are written with a simplicity that even the youngest worshipper can appreciate, yet with a profoundness that helps place you right in the face of God.
