With their latest project "Testimony" produced by and featuring the irresistible songwriting of Fred Jerkins III, whose credits include Destiny’s Child, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Brandy, Michael Jackson and innumerous others , Virtue is sure to see unprecedented success. Since their formation in 1994, this trio of sisters has already been nominated for Grammy, Stellar and Dove awards, and the future is looking as bright as ever.
Virtue was composed in 1994 at Oakwood College. Since then, the ladies of Virtue have embarked upon their musical providence and received countless awards for the five projects they’ve released, including Nothing But The Hits, an amalgamation of their greatest songs. New Orleans natives Ebony Trotter Holland, Karima Trotter Kibble and Heather Trotter Martin once again combine their stellar vocal abilities to present this new sonic adventure.
Recently signed to DarkChild Gospel, headed by CEO Fred Jerkins III, Virtue prepares to release their debut album with the label, Testimony. The recording was executive produced by Jerkins himself and the vocals were produced by LaShawn Daniels ( Beyonce, Yolanda Adams and Mary Mary) and Hector Diaz.
“We’ve never used the same producer for an entire project,” shares Karima, “so this was a step of faith, out of our comfort zones. But the results speak for themselves. Freddie is an amazingly talented producer and we’re fortunate to have had the chance to work with him. This project represents Virtue at a whole new level.”
With this release, Virtue continues to impress. Testimony features club-savvy groove-driven songs that are a bit of a departure from the traditional Virtue sounds, but also showcase their recognized harmonies and worshipful, emotive style. Testimony features danceable songs such as “123 Praise”, as well as the worshipful “Fall Again.” The vocal agility of the three is demonstrated throughout the project as they pass off leads and take turns in the supporting roles.
“This is a new chapter for Virtue,” says Heather. On this project Virtue combines their signature vocal style with infectious dance floor rhythms that will take the musical world by storm. Heather continues, “We’re looking forward to sharing these engaging, empowering songs with our fans. God chose us to do this ministry and we want to spread His love to everyone.”
